Sue said: "I'd always viewed kettlebells as something a younger woman would do because it looked like heavy work - not something for a 64 year old unfit woman! However, when the opportunity arose to try kettlebells within The Keep Moving Club, I took it and thoroughly enjoyed it. The guidance and support given by Mel is great and I feel I've achieved a lot with kettlebells in a relatively short time. Give it a go!"
Leigh said: "I’ve always had a real fear of exercise classes. I worried I wouldn’t be able to keep up, that I’d look silly, or that everyone else would be much fitter and slimmer than me. Most of all, I dreaded standing out for all the wrong reasons. Joining a beginner class made all the difference. Having that initial guidance gave me the basic skills and confidence I needed to take the next step. From there, I moved into the joint classes, and I can honestly say I love them. I’ve also found that signing up for a structured course, such as a six-week block, really helps keep me accountable and allows me to track my progress from start to finish. It’s been such a rewarding journey — one I wish I’d started sooner"
Heidi said: "3 years ago I was very unhappy with my body shape and fitness levels. I was just entering the perimenopausal phase of my life and lacked confidence, self care and energy. I found Mel via facebook and after watching her posts, I took the bull by the horns and contacted her. Initially we worked 1:1 on strength training using kettlebells. I really wanted to focus on getting to a point where I enjoyed exercising and felt comfortable with using weights. I didn’t expect to start feeling good about myself and to find my self belief and confidence in my general abilities improving- but they did.
This year, my 50th year, I took part in nuclear fit, exceeding even my own expectations and am half way through couch to 5k, which I choose to try even though I thought I hated running. Why? Because movement has helped my mental health too and I didn’t expect that either. All of the positive things happening in my life began with Mel and her coaching! Thank you Mel x"
